Notes on My Vision

Текст

Thinking of a better way to give the ideas shape and soul took a while and this is what I came up with. This project I called “Notes on my vision” represents a kind of animated film supplemented with the captions to make the intended clear. All the characters are the unique works of authorship and were drawn by me, Ilija Erofeev. To avoid the accusation of plagiarism, I must confess that the picture of the car and some photos of Volgograd were downloaded from the Internet.

While making the project I was trying to identify the place my art takes in my life. I also was intended to prove the importance of the gift of creation any human being is presented with since he is born and underline the necessity to develop your talents in order to build your own personality. All that is of urgent and practical use for makes it possible to add new images to the picture of the world, the images only you can think and work out.

To make myself clear I need to emphasize that all through the life any human being leaves back the traces which are the physical evidences of his earthly existence. What do all those traces look like? It depends on what the person who left the traces was. It is not in my capacity to make strict judgments on what we should leave behind. The thing I am sure about is the more you do to become a better person, the longer your traces stay on the paths of life. At first sight it may seem to have nothing in common with my passion to draw, however it does. Our love and devotion to any kind of work may become the root of our “arbor vitae” – the tree of life. It may also have an impact on the lives of other people. I don’t mean it will change the world, stop wars, wipe away all the tears, give shelter to the homeless and comfort to the suffering. Obviously, it will not. The point is, it may cause one smile, one minute of joy and one moment of the incredible feeling that you are the part of the Universe. Anyway, even though it can’t influence other people, no doubt, it will influence me.

My art is a perfect way to explain myself, to express the thoughts and feelings any verbal language fails to express sometimes. When I draw, I forget about the misfortunes and troubles, I get deep into the microcosms of dreams and fantasies which are nothing but the reality let through my own vision.

Whatever I draw, I put a bit of my inner world onto the paper and get the outside world take it as it is, with all the faults and merits. I guess that’s the reason why it is quite hard to accept any criticism, though that is one more way to develop myself, to learn to listen to the worthy advice and shake off the phony stuff.

Any art is “a voice in a wilderness” and the most important thing any artist is seeking for is understanding. So, let me share with you the piece of my soul and may your judgment be not harsh.
